Dear Family-
I have so many fond memories of “The Kief” he was hard on me because he knew I could do it. He called my parents plenty of times. He is a one of my teachers that I will always remember. Love to you all.

Mr. Kiefer was my Math teacher in the 70’s. I was always challenged by math but somehow he got through to me. He made my worst subject understandable and not seem so intimidating and I actually for the first time in my life got some decent grades in Math. I will never forget him for that. The year I had him was the year his daughter Kathleen was born. He told me he named her after me. I knew it wasn’t true but it made me laugh. Teachers can make such a big impact on people’s lives. He certainly did on mine. It was a good, fun year and I will never forget him. So sorry for your loss. Best Regards, Kathleen Marks

It was an honor to be in Mr. Kiefer's class. He was a true gentleman who provided consistency to a bunch of adolescent's. My most vivid memory of Mr. Kiefer is how he broke up an altercation that was about to be a fight. He stood in the hall with both of them and had a conversation for several minutes--end of problem.
Thoughts and Prayers to his family & friends.

Mr Kiefer was a wonderful teacher. He is the reason I fell in LOVE with math-as he had the 100 list on his wall for every 100% we received - our name would be on the list ! He also explained that math was easy because the answer is “there” you just have to “solve” the problem. What he taught...... I learned. He made a very big difference for me and I always remembered him for it!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your family and my past math teacher.
Thank you Mr Kiefer , May you Rest In Peace <3

I first met Joe Kiefer when I was a freshman in St. Pascal Baylon High School, in St. Albans, Queens. He was my Math teacher. I had such a crush on him, as most of my friends did! I used to stay after school and wash his chalkboards! We have been friends for sixty years! I will miss him terribly, and will keep him in my prayers always!
