Richard G. Baker II passed away on February 27, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, and his children, Krista Peterson, Derek Peterson, Katie Baker, Kevin Baker, and Catherine Malone. Daughter-in-laws Jillian Kenney-Baker and Erin Galgano-Peterson, and son-in-laws Sean Malone and Craig Buckvar. His grandchildren are Jerry Gebhard, Madison, Jenna, Nick and Jonathan Buckvar, Jack Peterson, Birdie and Theodore Baker, and George Malone. A memorial service will be held at N.F. Walkers Funeral Home in Merrick, NY, from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 25th. Ashes are to be interred on Tuesday, March 26th, at 11:00 a.m. at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that your donations be sent to the UAB Neuro-Oncology Program, 510 20th Street South, Faculty Office Tower 1020, Birmingham, Alabama, 35294-3410, Attention: Shirley Gibbs. Your contribution will be used to directly support Rick's doctor's study into research for the particular kind of brain tumor he had. Please be sure to include your name and address with all donations.
