Claire D. Tangney died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. She was a long-time resident of Merrick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John. She is survived by her three daughters: Dr. Christine Tangney Moon (Bob), Susan Monogan (Jim), and Patrice Rudolph (Peter). She is also survived by two granddaughters: Chloe Moon, a junior at Dartmouth College and Holly Rudolph, a sophmore at the University of Vermont. Claire was a supervisor at Bell Telephone, a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Merrick, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Merrick on August 2 at 11 am.
