Douglas was a History Teacher at Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick for more than 25 years.
Beloved husband of the late Janice Smestad. Devoted father of Dylan and Ethan Smestad. Loving brother of Craig Smestad and brother in law of Eileen Smestad and Robert Osinga. Loving Uncle of Kelly and Renee.
A memorial service will be held 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22 at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY with Rev. David Anglin officiating. Cremation was private,
Memorial Visiting will be Tuesday, September 22 from 2-4&7-9PM at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY.
