Dear Aunt Helen:
One by one, my favorite people in the whole world are slipping away. I know you are now in a better place with your Husband (and my favorite Uncle), Cousin Billy, my Mom and my Dad. Please say Hi to them for me.
It was a always special treat when Mom, Dad, Faye and I visited you, Uncle Beb, Nicky, Billy and Paulie in Merrick. So many good times and memories. And the laughs; especially the laughs! Uncle Beb was a terrific story teller. Whenever I tell a humerous story or a tall tale, I remind myself that I learned my skill sitting at the foot of the master.
But, the icing on the cake was your bubbly personality and constant good cheer. It was an unfailing source of happiness in gloomy times and a reminder of what was truly important in life.
Goodbye, beloved Aunt, We will all miss you. The sadness and sorrow I feel now is leavened by the pleasant memories of times gone by. Enjoy the next life, and when you see St, Peter, please put in a good word for me :.).
