Herbert C. Boykin, age 90, of North Merrick died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Nassau University Medical Center of East Meadow, NY. Mr. Boykin was born in 1924 in New York City, NY. He is the son of the late Herbert S. and the late Marguerita (Gulliame) Boykin. He married Emma Boykin.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 24APR44 to 21APR46. He was employed by City Of Philadelphia as a Social Worker.
He is survived by his wife: Emma (Lee) Boykin and one daughter: Hilda Boykin-Harris; ; he also has three grandchildren. grandson, Perone Harris; granddaughter, Kendall Harris; granddaughter, Brianna Harris.
The funeral will be held 7:30 pm on Thursday, January 15 at N. F. Walker, Inc., 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY with the Rev. Ann Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Friday, January 16 at 11:30 am.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 15 from 2-4 & 7-9PM and Friday, January 16 from 9:30 to 10am at N. F. Walker, Inc., 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY.
