Obituary of Richard Arthur Zapke

Richard A. Zapke, of Merrick, NY, passed away on Sunday, 25 February 2024. Rich is survived by his three children, Andrew, Jennifer, and Sarah, and his six grandchildren, Aiden, John, AJ, Vincent, Adrianna, and Nicolina; his partner Linda, and her children, Melissa and Jeffrey; as well as the many people who considered him a friend, brother, cousin, uncle, substitute father, and more. 

Rich will be remembered fondly for his outgoing personality and bright smile. While Rich enjoyed many activites, his favorite was spending time with his children and grandchildren. When he wasn't spending time watching his grandchildren or taking trips, he was active in his Church community. His faith offered him solice when life was difficult. 

A wake will be held at NF Walker funeral home on Thursday 29 February from 2pm to 4pm, and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral Mass at Cure of Ars Church will be held on Friday 1 March at 11:15am. In lieu of flowers, Rich asked you to consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in his name.
