Mary Agnes Teevan Obituary

Mary Agnes O’Moore Teevan was born on September 1, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of three children and only girl to William and Sarah O’Moore. She grew up in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn and graduated from Bay Ridge High School, a prestigious all-girls school. She then worked in Manhattan for several years.

On May 16, 1953, Mary married the love of her life Francis R. Teevan. The two celebrated sixty-nine years of marriage in May 2022. Together they raised three children: Francis, William, and Joan Marie. And lived in Merrick for fifty-nine years. She was employed at the Merrick Library and was a faithful and active member of Cure of Ars R.C. Church. She was awarded the Saint Agnes Service Medal by the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Center.

Mary was proud of her Irish heritage and was a fan of Notre Dame football.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Frank, her mother Sarah and her father William, two brothers, William and John, her sister-in-law Rose O’Moore, her son-in-law Robert P. Ryan, and several other loving relatives.

She is survived by her son Francis and wife Judy of Woodbridge, Virginia; her son William and wife Pamela of Bogota, New Jersey, and her daughter Joan Marie Ryan of Fort Myers, Florida. Five grandchildren: Melanie Cihak, Allyson Teevan, Laura Bridges, Sarah Teevan, and William Clemens; two great-grandsons, Theodore Bridges and Matthew Cihak. And a great-grand daughter Elizabeth Kay Bridges who is due to arrive at Christmastime.
