Obituary of Gabriele Daddi

Surrounded by family Gabriele Daddi passed away on March 19, 2022. We were lucky to have him for 91 and a half years. Gabriele "Enzo" Daddi was born in Zara, Italy October 11,1930 to Antonietta and Giuseppe Daddi he was 5th in line of 7 surviving children. He never finished more than the 3rd grade and was self-taught learning to read and write in at least 2 languages. He became a Profugo along with his mother and younger siblings at the end of the war. He came to America in February of 1956 and lived in a one-bedroom apartment in hell's kitchen with mother and siblings. He had a few jobs to help take care of his family before becoming a longshoreman. He had his main profession for 40 years along with many additional part-time jobs in order to provide for his family. He met our mother Mari-Mette "Mia" Ulmo in 1968 in Central Park. Perhaps you've heard their love story before. It is one the bore this family of 6. He is survived by his wife Mari-Mette " Mia" Daddi , children: Pino Daddi And wife Ann Taylor Daddi; Predeceased by daughter Gabriella Daddi, daughter Vittoria Daddi-Pentlicky predeceased by her husband Matt Pentlicky and their children Matteo, Mia and Luca, son Antonio Daddi, daughter Marietta Daddi-Murphy and husband Matt Murphy and their children Michaela and Connor, son Dante Marco Daddi and his daughter Alexa Rose and his brother Umberto Daddi wife Christa Daddi and their children and grandchildren, also a host of nieces and nephews and their children He passes on to all who knew him a love of singing out loud with family (be it in Italian or a rousing rendition of in happy birthday), his love of Pavarotti, gardening vegetables ,love of chess, a good heated discussion served with a glass of Chianti or Amarone e una buona partita di calcio. Most of all he passes on a deep and profound sense of right and wrong, of honor and duty to family.
