Obituary of Dorothy T. Bevacqua

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy Bevacqua was born in Long Branch, New Jersey where she lived with her parents Millie and Theodore Ruscio and her older brother Andy. While still a child, Dorothy and her family moved to Fort Hamilton section of Brooklyn. While there, she made many friends as Dotty, as her friends called her, was sociable and loved to laugh. Dotty enjoyed going dancing and spending time at Coney Island. As she matured, she ended up getting a job in Manhattan where she worked as a switchboard operator. It was there where she met Gloria DeVico, her future niece. One day Gloria said she had a nice uncle for Dotty to date. Gloria introduced Dotty to Tom Bevacqua. They got married and stayed married, through good times and challenging times. When Tom passed away in November of 2021, he and Dotty were married for 69 years.
