Obituary of Carol A. Madden

Carol Ann Madden of Merrick, NY passed away on September 21, 2021 at the age of 64 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and children. Despite all the hardships she endured, she always managed to maintain the best sense of humor and such a positive outlook on life. The daughter of Robert and Mildred Harbison, Carol was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 30, 1956. Loved by all who knew her, she is survived by her loving husband, Joseph, her four adoring daughters, Kristin, Tara, Caitlin and Megan, her grandchildren, Evan, Zoey, Riley and James, her brother, Robert, and her father, Robert. Carol’s favorite place to be was sitting on the shore of Loon Lake in the Adirondacks with family and friends. She loved spending her time crafting, cooking, baking, and doting on her family (including her canine companion Benji aka “Boo Boo”). She was a Scrabble connoisseur - look out if she had a Q in the mix. Her ability to make the holidays so very special earned her the nickname “Christmas Carol.” Words cannot adequately express how very much she will be missed by all. A wake will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 9 pm at N.F. Walker, Inc. Funeral Home in Merrick, NY. A mass will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:15 am at Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Merrick, NY.
