Mary O'Neill, (Brigid) Nee Walsh 89, longtime Merrick resident passed away July 7, 2021. Born January 28 1932., to Michael and Annie (nee O'Connor) Walsh. Beloved wife of Richard Hansen O'Neill. Graduate of Fort Hamilton High School and Nassau Community College nursing program. Proudly became a Registered Nurse on October 17, l980, in the midst of raising her family. Married to her beloved Richard on June 26, l954. She was a loving mother and wife and devoted and adoring grandmother. Survived by her children; Richard (Marta), Kathleen (Robert), Joseph (Kay), Carol (Christopher), Mary (Jeffrey), Patricia (Daniel), Maureen (John), and her grandchildren: Jacqueline, Gabriele, Joseph, Caroline, Brian, Bridget, Kiera, Kevin, Colin, Olivia, Caleb, Fallon, Erin, Jillian, Shane, Maegan,Rose, Emma & Richard. Predeceased by her loving husband Richard and her son William. Visitation on Friday, July 9 from 2 – 4 and 7-9 pm at the N.F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue Merrick. Funeral Mass Sat. July 10. At 10AM at Cure of Ars 2323 Merrick Avenue Merrick. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers in her name to MJHS Foundation hospice fund www.MJHS foundation .org/ giving and Juvenile diabetes Research Fund https://www.jdrf.org/. appreciated..
