Obituary of Rose Marie Halleran

Rose Marie Halleran, 97, of North Merrick, New York, passed away on March 14, 2023, from natural causes. Rose Marie was born on October 5, 1925, to Rosa Boenig Ely and Frank Ely in Floral Park, New York. Sister to Frank (deceased). Rose Marie married Irving (Bill) Halleran (deceased) in 1946. They resided in North Merrick since 1948. Rose Marie is survived by 3 sons. Bill (Betty), Frank (Carol, deceased) and Scott (Linda), 8 grandchildren, Tina (Tim), Bill Jr. (Amy), Rick (Patsy), Elizabeth (Michael), Scott Jr. (Katie), Emily (Joe), Beth (Matt), Tom (Vivian) and 13 great-grandchildren, Garrit, Tanner, Caleb, Emilee, Brock, Blake, Issac, Madison, Jessica, Felicia, Michael JR., Skylar and Hayden. Rose Marie retired from the Bellmore Merrick CHSD in 1992 as an executive secretary. She was an active member of the Merrick Methodist Church, the North Merrick Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and the American Legion. She loved her many dogs through the years, and she spent countless hours tending to her garden. Everyone who passed her house would marvel at the beautiful landscape she created. Above all, Rose Marie adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and grand dogs.
