Catherine A,(Kay) Griffin, 87, of East Meadow, NY passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Helen and Patrick Hennessy, Kay lived a life defined by devotion to her family, her faith, and her profession. She was a dedicated teacher for 35 years with the New York City Department of Education.

Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Walter P. Griffin. She is lovingly survived by her children: Elizabeth O'Malley (John); Kay Kozlowski (John); Walter; and Patricia Griffin. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren: Sean, Erin, Kaylee, Gavin, Emma, James, and Caitlin, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Kay is also survived by her cousin, Sr. Christine Hennessy; her cherished friends, Roberta and Myra and many other family and friends who will deeply miss her. 

Kay's family would like to thank the dedicated medical and health care team who supported Kay over the last few years. Their compassion gave Kay's family the precious gift of more time with her.
