Eileen Norton, born May 21, 1942, in the Bronx, New York, passed away surrounded by love. She was the beloved daughter of James and Helen Dooley and lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, and deep care for others.
Eileen was a devoted sister to James Dooley (Mary) and Margaret Norris (John). She was a loving mother to her daughter, Margaret Thomann (Andy), and her son, John Norton (Tricia). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to seven grandsons—Ryan, Jack (Sarah), Joseph (Taylor), James, Kevin, Andrew, and Peter—who were the joy of her life.
A beloved aunt, Eileen held a special place in the hearts of her extended family, always offering warmth, encouragement, and love.
Eileen dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, a calling that reflected her compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to service. A woman of deep faith, she devoted countless hours to her Catholic Church through its Consolation Ministry, offering comfort, prayer, and companionship to those experiencing loss. Her ministry was a true reflection of her gentle spirit and lifelong dedication to caring for others.
She was also a Master Gardener, finding peace and joy in nurturing growth and beauty. Known as a loyal friend and caring neighbor, Eileen was always ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm smile.
She made her home in Merrick and Laurel, New York, where she built lasting friendships and fostered a strong sense of community.
Eileen will be remembered for her generosity, faith, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched and in the family she cherished so deeply.
