Jim Caruana passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2025. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 53 years, his sons Mike, BJ, and Vinnie, his daughters in law Gina, Carrie, and Laura and his grandchildren McKenzie, Bella, and Declan.

Jim was a retired school teacher who taught art for over three decades in the East Meadow School District.

He shared his love of music, good food, skiing, ice hockey, camping at Hither Hills and travel with whoever wanted to join him. Jim and Barbara's door has always been open to anyone and everyone and they have touched countless lives.

We will gather on Friday, December 26, 2025 to celebrate Jim's wonderful life at NF Walker Merrick Funeral Home. The visitation and a brief service will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

NF Walker Merrick Funeral Home is located at 2039 Merrick Ave., Merrick NY. Donations to St. Jude on Jim's memory would be much appreciated.
