Robert George Porcelli, 95, passed peacefully on November 12, 2025, in his daughter's home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 20, 1930, in Queens, New York, Robert proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service he worked at WOR-TV while building a long and fulfilling life in Merrick, where he lived for more than 60 years.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Cathleen, for 68 years. Together they raised their daughter, Valerie (Paul). He was a devoted grandfather to Brendan (Kristen), AJ (Toni-Ann), and Corey, and a proud great-grandfather to Jack and Declan.
Robert loved the ocean and found joy in sailing, playing chess, and spending time by the water. His gentle presence, steady spirit, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and a life well lived.
Services will be held Monday, November 17 at N.F. Walker Funeral Home between 2-4 and 7-9.
