Mr. Cliszis was my favorite teacher at Wantagh High School. I would go to him for recommendations of books to read. He was spot on and very progressive. I also used to discuss the stats of every Knicks' game as basketball was one of my passions. Years later, I met his sister Karen when I worked with her at Massapequa General Hospital.
I will never forget the positive impact he had on my life.

1994 my husband Joe called his buddy Ron and said
," hey my girlfriend is looking for a social studies job " without hesitation Ron asked for my resume and 32 years later I've spent my entire career at Wantagh high school . I owe everything to him. He was an amazing teacher, psychology, sociology etc he brought those classes alive. He was so funny and loved by all . his legacy lives on at Wantagh high school, and in the hearts of everybody that knew him and had the pleasure of being in his classroom . he set my life on the path that it is on, and I owe everything to him. He'll be forever missed. Love always , michelle Harclerode

I’m so saddened to hear of Mr C. Passing. He was such a great teacher. I had him for Social Studies and he made learning fun and interesting. When he was coaching basketball, my son was playing for Seaford and my son got to meet him. Something that I am so grateful for. Mr. C was one of a kind. I don’t ever think he raised his voice in class. Boy, he’s sure is going to be missed. Rest easy Mr. C
