Kevin Richard Conroy Obituary

Kevin Conroy, 68,Merrick, New York

Kevin Conroy, a respected public servant, accomplished professional, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully at the age of 68. His life was defined by integrity, service, and a deep commitment to those around him.

A native of Merrick, Kevin earned his degree from Hofstra University. In college, he distinguished himself as an All-American lacrosse player — a testament to his drive and leadership from an early age. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and served with distinction as the Comptroller for the largest township in the United States. During his tenure, Kevin was widely respected for his fiscal expertise, unwavering diligence, and ethical stewardship of public resources. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored by the Long Island Contractors Association — a reflection of the high regard in which he was held across both the public and private sectors.

Kevin's professional life also included more than two decades of service as a sidelines official for the New York Jets football organization, a role that combined his lifelong love of sports with his characteristic precision and dedication.

In the spirit of giving back, Kevin also served on the Levittown School Board while a resident of Levittown. There, he provided trusted fiscal guidance to fellow board members and district officials, contributing to the well-being of the local community and its students.

Beyond his many professional achievements, Kevin was most proud of his family. He was the beloved husband of Constance Conroy and the devoted father of their two daughters, Katharine and Lauren. He was a guiding force in their lives, always offering support, wisdom, and encouragement. Kevin was also a cherished brother to Maureen Grilli, Richard Conroy, Stephen Conroy, Robert Conroy, John Conroy, and the late Paul Conroy. To his siblings and extended family, he was a steady presence — known for his humor, strength, and unwavering love.

Kevin was also a generous mentor to many young professionals, helping shape careers and lives with his guidance and support. His influence will continue to be felt through the many people he inspired along the way.

Kevin Conroy's legacy is one of service, love, and leadership. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
