Please share a memory of Anne Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne Marie Vaccacio of Merrick, NY passed away on June 12, 2025. Anne Marie was born on June 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Caesar J. and Maureen Pacitto. She is survived by her son Christopher (Jojette), her granddaughter Alyson, her siblings Edward (Mary Elizabeth), Clare (Robert Sproule) and Andrew (Jeanne) and numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Aunt Tootsie". She is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Jimmy, who passed away just over a year ago in February 2024, and by her beloved son, Damien, who was a victim of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. She is also predeceased by her younger siblings Denise and Michael. Anne Marie was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in always caring for Jimmy, and when they were young, Chris and Damien. She was a fantastic cook and homemaker who centered her life around her family. She gave them a beautiful and loving home to come home to every day. Every afternoon Anne Marie could be found in her kitchen making dinner for her family, while at the same time helping Chris and Damien with their homework and making sure they studied. She was always available to help out at school and drive them to all their activities. Her homes were beautifully decorated, often with draperies she made herself and with wallpaper that she hung herself, and with fresh flowers and beautiful collectibles such as Lladros, which Jimmy often gave to her as gifts. Anne Marie was always busy, and after Chris and Damien grew up, she worked outside the home as a successful realtor and as a closing coordinator for a realty firm. Anne Marie also centered her life around her faith. She was a parishioner at the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart in North Merrick for almost 55 years and was a lector for many of them. She loved going to Mass and went daily after the September 11th tragedy until she was unable to do so. She was devoted to the Blessed Mother and loved praying the rosary. Anne Marie was very loved and will be greatly missed.
