Tania Hersam, age 84, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister, Aunt passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025

Born to Michael and Sonia Siomkin in Queens, NY, Tania was one of 10 children in a close-knit family. She graduated from Adelphi University, and went to work at Guardian Life Insurance Co. where she met her future husband, Robert. They later married, settled in Merrick, NY, where they raised their two daughters. Tania and Robert were married for 57 years.

Tania's favorite time of the year was Christmas. She enjoyed hosting her large family, always making it extra special for the younger children. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, whether at home or during summers in Montauk, a place that held a special spot in her heart. Tania will be remembered for her warm heart and her unwavering support of loved ones. Her presence will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert, and her daughters, Carolyn (Rob) and Diane (Chris). She was a proud and adored grandmother to her four granddaughters: Madeline, Charlotte, Ella, and Ava, who brought her immense joy. Tania also leaves behind her sisters, Susie, Liz, and Lainey; her brother, Steven; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Tania's life on Sunday, February 2nd, from 12 PM to 3 PM at N.F. Walker Funeral Parlor in Merrick, NY.
