Obituary of Estelle Nordmeier

Estelle Lesiw Nordmeier born September 7, 1919 in Hempstead, N.Y. was a graduate of Hempstead High School. She married Fred A. Nordmeier on June 20, 1943. She was employed as a Title Searcher with the Title Guarantee and Trust Company in Mineola NY prior to WWll. During the war she was employed by Grumman and later by the Franklin National Bank. Estelle served on the Nassau County Board of Elections for 25 years and as a Lifetime Member of the Merrick Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Empire Hose Company. She enjoyed babysitting for local families in Merrick. Estelle was predeceased by her parents Mary and Michael Lesiw, her sisters Ann Killion, Catherine Ruzyla and her brother Peter Lesiw. She is also predeceased by her husband Fred A. Nordmeier and her son Clifton M Nordmeier. She is survived by her son Gerard ( Jerry ), her daughter in law Trudy, her granddaughter Morgan and her cousins Michael Petrysyn and Howard Slater, Religious services will be held 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 15 at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY with Rev. Dennis Carter officiating. Merrick Fire Department Services will be Thursday at 7:30 PM. Funeral Friday 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Greenfield Cemetery Hempstead NY Visiting will be Thursday, October 15 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at N. F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY.
