Marion Jane Merkelbach, born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on August 25, 1932, joined her beloved parents and grandparents in heaven on January 24, 2015. She was a resident of North Merrick for over 50 years. She was a twenty year cancer survivor who succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimers disease. Marion was a graduate of Jamaica High School and the Katherine Gibbs School in Manhattan. She and her husband Bill were the original owners and operators of the Dunkin' Donuts franchise in Bellmore, N.Y. from the late 1970's through l989. She was loved and respected by the community and her employees. She is survived by her husband Bill of North Merrick; daughter Lynn Coromilas and her husband Dr. James Coromilas of Ridgewood, N.J. and their three children Ellie, Alexandra and James; daughter Jean C. Merkelbach and her daughter Stephanie Smittkamp of Lake Tahoe Nevada; son Robert W. Merkelbach of North Merrick. Visiting Saturday the 31st from 2 to 5pm at the N.F. Walker Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Avenue Merrick. Funeral Services at the funeral home Saturday at 4pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Foundation and the American Cancer Society would have been appreciated by Marion. .
